Thanksgiving Guide To Palm Desert

A trip to Palm Desert is always something exciting for travelers, but a trip this way over Thanksgiving comes with extra flavorful moments included! The following Thanksgiving guide to Palm Desert is a great place to start when you’re looking to vacation in Palm Desert for the holidays this November.

THANKSGIVING GUIDE TO PALM DESERT

While a trip to Palm Desert over Thanksgiving is a great chance to get out and explore and enjoy the sunshine, those who are looking forward to a traditional holiday meal can have that as well. The Desert Willow Golf Resort will be hosting a Thanksgiving Day buffet on Thursday, November 24, 2022, between noon and 4:00 pm. Outdoor seating is available to guests during this timeframe on the half hour, pairing savory menu options with views to match. Meal options include traditional favorites and sides as well as a wide variety of dessert selections too. The buffet starter menu this year will include everything from cheese dips and French onion soup to cranberry fluff, deviled eggs, and tomato and mozzarella Caprese salad just to name a few. The buffet will also host a carving station complete with roasted turkey and gravy as well as ribeye. Moving onto the main buffet, guests will be able to enjoy everything from mashed potatoes and brussel sprouts to stuffing, baked yams, and yellow squash ravioli with parsley sauce. End things on a sweet note by making the most of the dessert selections which range from fresh baked pies and cheesecake to chocolate mousse, cake, crepes, black forest torte, and even citrus Yuzu cups. This Thanksgiving Day buffet experience is available for $62.99 for adults and $24.99 for children 6 to 12 years of age. Those who are 5 and under can dine at no cost. With every buffet purchased, guests will enjoy a complimentary beverage including a glass of Champagne or hot tea, coffee, iced tea, or orange juice depending on preference.

After dinner, guest can enjoy time on the golf course as well. Desert Willow Golf Course is an award-winning Palm Desert stop where golfers can pick and choose between the more challenging Firecliff course or enjoying a leisurely round with family and friends at Mountain View. The Desert Willow Golf Resort is located at 38-995 Desert Willow Drive and private lessons can be booked upon request.

HIKE THE BUMP AND GRIND TRAIL AFTER THANKSGIVING DINNER

Thanksgiving is a holiday that certainly has a way of revolving around delicious moments. Those who head to Palm desert this time of year and are looking for a fun and scenic way to work off those extra holiday calories will find time on the Bump and Grind Trail effective and inspiring! This trail is one of the most popular for hikers to enjoy in the Palm Desert area year-round. It’s a great route for really capturing the vibe of the Coachella Valley and enjoys an elevation gain of around 1,000 feet. The reward of hiking this trail typically lies at the overlook where hikers can stop and take in sweeping views of Palm desert from above. The Bump and Grind Trail can be taken at your own pace and is a great option for those who love wildlife spotting too. It’s common for adventurers on this trail to spot a variety of bird species as well as bighorn sheep!

TRY A HOLIDAY 5K

Another great option for keeping up with healthy living over the holiday in Palm Desert is to participate in the annual holiday 5K that’s hosted in town. The Fortem Financial Thanksgiving 5K benefiting Martha’s Village & Kitchen is presented by KESQ News Channel 3 and will once again be held on Thanksgiving Day in 2022. In its 16th year, this 5K is a great opportunity to gather family and friends and enjoy exercising over Thanksgiving for a good cause. Proceeds support an organization that works to end homelessness and hunger in the Coachella Valley. Typically, over 4,000 people attend this event each year. The race kicks off on El Paseo in Palm Desert and begins at 8:00 am. Registration can be completed online in advance.

SPEND TIME AT THE AQUATIC CENTER

If you and your traveling crew are in the mood to go for a swim this Thanksgiving, time at the Palm Desert Aquatic Center is always well-spent. Located at 73751 Magnesia Falls Drive, this family-friendly location is open year-round and provides guests with access to everything from pools and diving boards to waterslides and more. It’s entirely possible to sign up for water aerobics classes on-site but coming for a fun family swim is within reach too!
