Cabazon Dinosaurs

Taking time to unwind in sunny California is a captivating adventure that travelers from near and far look forward to enjoying. While the destination promises to please, getting there can be half the fun! Whether you’re making your way to scenic Palm Springs or Palm Desert to enjoy a getaway experience unlike any other, there are sure to be a variety of roadside stops to check out along the way. Among them, the Cabazon Dinosaurs rank towards the top as a must-see attraction when the West Coast calls.

A Unique and Iconic Prehistoric Sight in Modern California

The Cabazon Dinosaur Museum is found at 50770 Seminole Drive in Cabazon, California. While this prehistoric roadside attraction is open to the public Monday through Friday from 8:30 am until 8:00 pm and between 8:00 am and 8:00 pm on Saturdays and Sundays, it’s hard to miss at all hours no matter where you happen to be in the vicinity! Much as the name indicates, the Cabazon Dinosaurs are two massive replicas towering above the landscape that was formerly referred to as Claude Bell’s Dinosaurs. Both dinosaurs are fabricated from a combination of steel and concrete. The Brontosaurus replica is fondly known as Dinny, while the towering T-Rex is known as Mr. Rex. These days, the two dinosaurs have found their way into the pop culture book of classics thanks to their featured roles on The Wizard and Pee Wee Herman’s Big Adventure alike.

What to Enjoy While You’re Here with Cabazon Dinosaurs

Beyond the fun of simply being in proximity to these iconic classics, a stop at the Cabazon Dinosaur Museum offers up a chance to snap some incredible photos as they’re regularly painted in California-inspired apparel! During the summer, visitors will find that right nearby the Cabazon Dinosaurs, they can enjoy time at the Wafflesaurus Truck which serves up dinosaur-themed ice cream and treats on Saturdays and Sundays. When you visit the Cabazon Dinosaurs, you’ll want to be sure to stop into the on-site gift shop and pick up a one-of-a-kind souvenir and take a dinosaur surfing photo too. Admission to the Cabazon Dinosaurs $13 for adults and $11 for children ages 3 to 12.
